Beech House School

Daisi Daniels, Year 4, took part in the British Indoor Skiing Grand Prix Series Mini 2 last weekend and was awarded 1st Place 2011 over both days. Daisi won trophies for both downhill events.

Beech House had had 4 wins and a split decision loss 2 to 1 at the Manchester Schools boxing tournament. Aleem Tahir, Akbar Hassan, Aston Buckley, and Ali Nawaz won. Asim Salim suffered the schools only loss. Being successful with 4 wins Beech House were crowned champions winning the Fr George Saintsbury cup. The event was watched by Anthony Crolla, the British Lightweight Champion. He presented medals and certificates to all participants and the cup to Beech House. We also got Anthony to sign all the certificates.

At the Regional Swimming Finals the Upper Prep team of Mairah Hasan, Olivia Rigg, Robyn Valentine, Natalie El-Hage and Vienna Simic were placed fourth in the medley relay and fifth in the freestyle relay.

A fancy dress day was held at the Senior and Upper Prep departments, whilst the Lower Prep had a Royal Wedding Day. The event was organized by Arifah Tahir as part of her Duke of Edinburgh award, with the proceeds going to Cancer Research.

1st: Saira Mahmood (Y10) (Smurf)
2nd: Molly Corrigan (Y9) (Robin Hood)

Year 3 - Aleena Qazi
Year 6 - Umair Ahmad

The House Points awarded this week were Mercury 53, Neptune 51, Saturn 49 and Jupiter 48. Joseph Bingham, Ali Salman and Alex Roebuck were awarded certificates for 50 House Points. Harry Ashton can be congratulated for getting his for 100 House Points. The Form of the week prize goes to Year 4.
