Eco-Club
This Club is on every Wednesday after school for Years 4 & 5 at 3.20-4.20pm.

Spare outdoor clothing
If anyone has any spare wellies or waterproof clothing in good condition we would appreciate them for our eco-club. Thank you.

Choir and Recorder
Choir or Recorder Clubs will restart next week.

Friends/PTA Meeting
Our next PTA meeting is on Monday 16 May at 6.30pm in the staffroom. Everyone welcome.

Cookery Club
Cookery Club starts again on Wednesday 18 May. The children who were doing cookery before Easter will continue on these sessions.

Dinner Money
Please send dinner money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Lunches are now £1.75 per day - £8.75 per week and should be paid on a Monday morning.

School Lunches
The week beginning 16th May is McCain Potato Week. The kitchen will be serving a different menu just for one week incorporating various potato dishes. There is a copy of this menu on the back of the newsletter.

Year 5 First Aid
First Aid for Year 5 children starts on Wednesday 3.20-4.20pm from 18 May.

Music Lessons
Tuition fees are now £2.85 per lesson. Fees for this half term are £8.55 for brass and guitar and £5.70 for clarinet.

Christian Aid
The School Council in conjunction with St. Martin’s Church are participating in Christian Aid Week between 15-21 May. Your child has brought home an envelope please fill with any spare loose change. Thank you.
Christian Aid exists to help those in need regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion so please help us to raise some money towards this very worthy cause.
We are also holding a Fair-Trade coffee afternoon on Thursday, 19 May 2.30-4.30pm in the Dining Hall – this is in conjunction with the Eco-Committee who will also be showing parents, grandparents and members of the local community round the school grounds.

Green Britain Day
On Thursday, 19 May we are celebrating Green Britain Day. We will all be dressing in green for the day. Please send in a donation of 50p – proceeds will go to Christian Aid. Various Eco activities will be taking place throughout the day such as gardening activities, model making, litter picks, designing a green super hero.

Text Messaging Service
We are continuing to use our text messaging service. In some cases we will be sending text messages to parents rather than sending letters so it is extremely important that you ensure you keep school up-to-date with any change in mobile phone numbers.

Castleton Children’s Centre
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s on Wednesday mornings 9.30am-10.30am.
