Sales assistant gets career on track with apprenticeship

Date published: 12 May 2011

A teen from Rochdale who has worked as a sales assistant since leaving school has bagged an apprenticeship, in a bid to help her develop her aspirations.

Rachel Cleminson, 19, felt her skills would be better placed with formal training and clear development opportunities. Hopwood Hall College suggested an apprenticeship route would be the best one to take.

Before long, Ms Cleminson secured a Business Administration apprenticeship working for Rochdale-based employer Hamble Corporate Services Ltd.

She said: “This is a good opportunity for me to start fresh with a clear development plan, while also getting paid and gaining formal qualifications. The team at Hopwood Hall College gave me excellent support in finding opportunities that matched my interest”.
