Man arrested after money and cannabis seized
Date published: 12 May 2011
A man has been arrested following a drugs warrant in Middleton.
At around 12.15pm on Tuesday 10 May 2011, officers from the Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant at a house on Longthwaite Close.
A quantity of money and cannabis were seized.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Police Constable Gary Owen, from Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "This warrant came about as a direct result of information received from the public and they have sent out a firm message that they will not put up with drug dealing on their doorstep.
"I would encourage anyone with information about drug dealing in the community to get in touch with us and want to warn others involved in such criminal activity that when we get information, we will act on it."
Anyone with information is asked to contact their local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0161 872 5050 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
