Staff threatened with knife in attempted robbery

Post Office staff were threatened with a knife in an attempted robbery.
A man, armed with a knife, entered the Post Office on Spotland Road shortly before 12.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 26 April 2011) demanding cash.
Staff raised the alarm and he fled with nothing.
A man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
Police investigations are continuing.
