Man cut free from van on motorway

Fire-fighters rescued a man from a van following a collision on the M62 motorway this morning (Monday 18 April 2011).

The incident, involving two box vans and a car, happened at 8.26am.

Two fire crews from Rochdale and Chadderton attended the scene, on the westbound side of the carriageway, between junction 19 and junction 20.

The man was trapped in the van and believed to have spinal injuries. He was cut free by the fire service and taken to hospital by ambulance.
