Bikini car wash raises over £400 for charity
Date published: 14 April 2011
A group of friends from Rochdale who spent Saturday afternoon cleaning cars in their bikinis have raised £456.00 for charity.
The young women were treated with great weather and lots of kind donations as they cleaned around 100 cars in the car park of the Oxford pub on Whitworth Road.
The money raised will be donated to children’s charity Clic Sargent.
The event, organised by Lisa Gratton, 29, is part of a yearlong scheme called Project 52. Each week Ms Gratton has to do something she has never done before, including four charity events.
Ms Gratton said: “It was brilliant. It went really well. The pub want us to go back.
“I’m so pleased with how much we raised, I didn’t think it would be that much.”
