Rochdale Online Local Election Special 2011

Date published: 09 April 2011

Rochdale Online has a section dedicated to the upcoming local election on 5 May.

We have invited every candidate to submit a ‘pitch’ to explain why they believe they should be a ward councillor, and why people should vote for them.

Candidates with ‘Pitches’ are marked with a double arrow.

There is also a full list of candidates as well as information on how to vote.

Candidates will contest 20 seats, one in each of the borough’s wards, as one third of the council comes up for election.

Polling cards are now being sent to households, and polling stations will be open from 7.00am to 10.00pm on 5 May.

Residents have until 14 April to make sure they are on the electoral register, and to apply for a postal vote – call 0161 253 5331/5337 or go to www.aboutmyvote.co.uk

Proxy vote applications must be lodged by 5.00pm on 21 April.
