A man has been stabbed in the back during an assault in Rochdale.
At around 9.30pm on Tuesday 5 April 2011, three men walked into a home on Stamford Street, Rochdale and attacked the 39-year-old victim from behind.
He was hit on the head a number of times before he was stabbed with an unknown weapon. The men walked off.
The victim managed to stagger outside onto the street before the emergency services were called.
The man was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.
There are no descriptions of the offenders.
Detective Constable Heidi Edge from Rochdale CID said: “From what the victim has told us, this was not a random attack and I would appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact us. We believe someone came across the victim and phoned for an ambulance and I would appeal for this person to come forward and help us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 4591 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111
