Royal Wedding fever hits Rochdale
Date published: 08 April 2011
With less than a month to go until Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot it seems that Royal Wedding fever has hit the Rochdale borough as 14 requests have been made to hold street parties on the day (29 April 2011).
The deadline for applications has passed and the council are now processing the requests.
There are six applications in Rochdale, two in Littleborough, three in Heywood and three in Middleton.
The applicants should be informed if they are successful next week.
Andy Zuntz, Executive Director at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “There’s a clear sense of community spirit across Rochdale borough in anticipation of the Royal Wedding.
“The number of applications has been high and we wish everyone hosting an approved street party a safe and enjoyable celebration.”
