Examples of the mobile listings on mobile phones
Shoppers in Rochdale are delighted with the brand new Rochdale Online mobile website.
The mobile site, which was launched earlier this week is fully optimized and marks a new era for Rochdale Online which was established in 1998.
The site displays the latest news, A-Z of business listings, from taxis to takeaways and hotels to hairdressers, a job search and a property search.
Rochdale Online reporter Laura Wild asked shoppers what they think about the site.
Sophie Warden described the site as “exciting” she said: “I use Rochdale Online all the time -so to access it easily on my mobile is great.”
The mobile website gives people the chance to check the news whilst on the move as well as searching for businesses, jobs and properties.
The launch recognises the shift from the laptop to the mobile. You can now search for anything - from where you want to go for a meal to your dream home - from anywhere.
Julie Higgins added: “I’m rubbish at using the internet on my mobile but this site looks really straightforward it looks like everything you need is right there.
“The young ones are always glued to their phones so it will be handy for them.”
Richard Stott echoed those thoughts, he said: “A business search for Rochdale businesses on the mobile will be so useful. I will be using it.”
John Taylor said he liked the way the mobile site is “displayed” He said: “It is easy to select what bit of the site you want to visit, I use my phone a lot to read the latest headlines so this is a really good idea.”
Rochdale Online’s Forum Members have also given the site the thumbs up.
One user, named Hinch, posted: “I use it all the time. You no longer have to be at your laptop or PC to find out what's happening and it's free!”
Lambert added: “Definitely useful [though] for a quick round up of the news and other snippets.”
StridingEdge added: “Looks good.”
