£20,000 worth of heroin recovered from Rochdale house

Heroin seized from Rochdale house
Class A drugs with an estimated street value of £20,000 were recovered from a house in Rochdale.
Following intelligence received from the local community, officers from the Rochdale Proactive Unit raided a house on Trafalgar Street on Thursday 31 March 2011.
Numerous bags of heroin and other drug paraphernalia were seized and two men, aged 21 and 52, were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
They remain in police custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Melanie Linton, from the Rochdale CID, said: “This excellent result came about thanks to information received from members of the community.
“We are determined to identify and tackle those involved in the sale and supply of drugs and the ongoing cooperation we get from local residents is vital to this.
“If anyone has any information about those involved in criminal activity please contact the police and all information will be treated in confidence.”
