Falinge Park High School
Simon Danczuk MP was invited into school by the Head of Enterprise, Adrian Penn last week along with Barclays’ bankers to get some tips in money management. Students took part in lessons using six fictional characters to learn about finance and budgeting as part of the Barclays Money Skills programme developed by Trading Standards. It was a great day and provided a fun and interactive way of learning how to keep a track of finances and how to stay informed about financial matters.
Monday 4 April is the start of our Year 8 cross-curricular week based on Rights Respecting Schools. All subjects and faculties will be working together on the theme to help the pupils understand how many skills are transferable across subject areas and to help strengthen pupils learning across subjects.
Year 10 parents Evening is on Tuesday 5 April from 3.15pm until 6.15pm. Your child should already have brought a letter home for you to make requests to see particular teachers and you should have received information about teachers who would like to talk to you about your child’s work. Please contact school for further information.
The Pulse and Dance event was a great success and well done to the students who participated. A special well done to the Music and IT BTEC students, who organised the whole event and to the staff too.
Staff from school managed to fill 62 cardboard boxes of old textbooks which are being sent to either Uganda or Tanzania through the charity READ international.
