Healey Foundation Primary School

A huge thank you and well done to everyone for taking part in The Big Pedal – we managed 92nd place out of over 1,000 schools in the UK. Children have continued to come to school by alternative means of transport hopefully reducing the congestion at the school gates – and contributing to healthier lifestyles for all. Well done.

Next week Year 1 are out on the morning of Wednesday 6 April to take part in an Easter Egg Hunt at Christ Church Healey. The children will be back in time for lunch.

The Music Service has contacted school to say that they are increasing their tuition costs from 3 May. The costs of the lessons will go up 10p to £2.85 and this cost will be fixed until April 2012. Individual lessons will remain at £7.50. Mrs Theobold will adjust the bills accordingly; there is no need for you to do anything.

Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award last Friday:

Reception - Ethan Richards

Year 1 - Amy McHale

Year 2 - Kai Amin

Year 3 - Monica Mohammed

Year 4 - Callum Howlett

Year 5 - Jeska Kelly

Year 6 - Olivia Storto

Overall school attendance was 97.4 per cent and although no 100 per cent, Year 1 managed 99.3 per cent.

The school office have requested that parents be reminded that absence letters should be sent in the day children return to school even though a telephone call has been made. We are required to keep absence letters on file.

Please can we also ask that all bills – especially Out of School Clubs, are settled before the end of term so the accounts can be finalised.

Mrs Powsey would like to thank all parents and pupils who donated money in memory of her husband. She is overwhelmed by the generosity shown and grateful that the money will be put to good use at Rochdale Hospice by helping others.
