Six students from the Rochdale Sixth Form College have been chosen to represent their peers for the 2011/12 academic year following an exciting election process.
Hundreds of students voted for the six who will now make up the Student Executive Team. The team will organise fundraising and social events and provide a direct channel of communication with Principal Julian Appleyard and the Senior Leadership team.
The students will head up the Student Council for the next twelve months. They are: Hassan Saleem, Charlotte Watson, Stephanie Wild, Ayesha Meera, Alisha Haywood-Singh and James Bannon.
They are former students of Falinge Park High School, St Cuthbert’s RC High School, Crompton House C of E School, Oulder Hill Community School and Kingsway Park School.
Jenny Carr, Assistant Principal said: “We are delighted to announce the Student Executive Body.
“This is a very exciting time for our Student Executives and the student voice will grow from strength to strength at Rochdale Sixth Form College.
“The whole election process was extremely well supported and the Executives will be outstanding ambassadors.
“They are all keen to commence their duties and will no doubt be involved in creating new initiatives and promoting student led activities and events."
Hassan Saleem and Stephanie Wild become full members of the Rochdale Sixth Form College Governing Body and so will be part of decision making processes at the highest level.
