Healey Primary School
Thank you to everyone for the phenomenal effort on Red Nose Day. The School Council managed to raise almost £350. We have sent £250 to Comic Relief and £100 to British Red Cross for the Japan Tsunami Appeal. To date you have helped your children to raise £1,798 for charities this year alone. We believe this is an amazing effort for a small school, thank you for all your support and generosity.
The Music Festival has now finished for another year. Thanks go to the parents who helped move children and instruments around – and for all those who managed to go and support their children. This festival is quite unique and children who take part remember the experience.
Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award:
Reception: Kayne Byrne
Year 1: Saatchi Prabhu
Year 2: Kallim Greenwood
Year 3: Georgia Barrett
Year 4: Cain Thomason
Year 5: Georgia Chambers
Year 6: Megan Abraham
Once again Year 5 achieved 100% attendance. This is now the 6th week running we have had a class with full attendance. Keep it up!
Year 1 are going to Rochdale CLC all day on Monday.
The Big Pedal has finished and all children who took part should be awarded with a certificate. The response has been far better than anticipated and we are optimistic that these children will continue to use sustainable ways to travel to school. Pictures of Healey participants are on the front page of the Big Pedal website. Special mentions for Mollie and her Mum and Morgan who cycled from Bacup – in spite of an exploding pedal, Year 3 who were by far and away the best class, and Mr Armstrong who overcame his reluctance and borrowed his friend’s bike. Please keep this up and we will be able to reduce the shocking congestion caused by cars.
And finally – check the chicks! We have a webcam transmitting images from the incubator in Reception. The eggs are beginning to hatch, its all very exciting. You can follow the progress of our chicks on the school website www.healey.rochdale.sch.uk.
