Rochdale woman wins £5,000 holiday vouchers

A Rochdale woman has won £5,000 worth of holiday vouchers after entering a Valentine’s competition.

Lucky Sarah McCarthy, 57, was invited to Clinton Cards in Shawforth on Saturday (19 March 2011) to collect her winner’s certificate, presented by the Store Manager and Boofle the dog.

The Boofle Valentine’s Competition ran through all Clinton Cards’ stores across the UK.

The prize draw took place on Monday 28 February at Clinton Cards’ Head Office where the winner was chosen at random.

“I cannot believe I won” said Mrs McCarthy, a part time ward clerk.

“When I found out, I had to keep reading the email over and over again.

“My husband and I will be able to enjoy not one but two holidays and can’t wait to be able to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary next year abroad - it’s a joy deciding where to go.”

Lynsey Todd, Clinton Cards Store Manager, said: “We’re always looking for little ways to spoil our customers and are delighted to present Mrs McCarthy with this great prize.

“We hope they have a holiday of a lifetime.”
