Special Zumba-thon to raise money for Comic Relief

Date published: 19 March 2011

Around 70 women from across the borough of Rochdale joined together this afternoon (Saturday 19 March 2011) to raise money for Comic Relief – by taking part in a Zumba-thon.

Zumba is a popular Latin dance-style exercise and today the woman joined together, at the Heywood Sports Village, to take part in a special one hour long class.

The ladies donned red clothes and special comic relief t-shirts and they were led by three Zumba instructors.

The jumbo sized class started at 2.30pm and a minimum donation of £1 was required with all funds going to Comic Relief as part of their ‘Do something funny for money’ campaign.
