Congratulations to the two groups who participated in the Youth Speaks competition and to Mrs Crossland who supported and helped them, not least with the transport. The Falinge Park Blue Team were awarded a certificate of entry and spoke on ‘Are manners a thing of the past?’ Well Done to Hekate Heathcote-Marley, Monwara Begum and Sohail Tariq.

The Red team spoke on ‘Please may I have time to grow?’ and they won the first round and went on to come second in the second round and reached the finals. In the finals there were stiff competition from mainly grammar schools and the team came second. Out of 32 schools who entered the competition at intermediate level (year 9) they came second. A brilliant effort from Parinita Paul, Zainab Kauser and Beenish Fawad. Well done and congratulations to all six participants.

Year 11 students had their photographs taken during the week in preparation for the Year Book. Everyone should now have their photographs and written messages on the site ready to be put in the Year Book.

Year 9 students are reminded that they should now have submitted their options choices to the Community Tutor. Please ensure this happens as soon as possible.
