Big writing challenge
Focus for the week :
Over the past week, the children have been learning about ‘Collective nouns’ such as a flock of sheep etc.
Next we will be looking at challenging punctuation marks!

Building work
The big day is almost upon us and this Monday 21st March you will be bringing the Nursery and reception class children into the new Foundation stage which is the former school hall. The old hall has been transformed into a superb, modernised setting.

New steps and ramp into school As from Monday the new step and ramp into the school from Ann street will be ready for use. Over the past few weeks we have had a temporary arrangement with pedestrian access through the side road entrance. As from Monday this will no longer be necessary. Parents children and visitors will be able to access school through the original pedestrian pathway and then down the steps or ramp bringing you to the Reception entrance.

Admission number 2011
Our capacity is increasing as well from an intake of 30 per year to an intake of 45 pupils per year. This will commence with our September intake 2011 meaning that we have capacity to take 45 children into Reception class from our current Nursery class as well as from other nursery settings.

Parking and traffic issues
Parents and carers, please be aware of the parking restrictions in the area around school.
Children’s safety is of course paramount so please make use of the school crossing patrol where appropriate and make sure children are well supervised at all times.
Due to the on-going metro-link work, there are road closures in the immediate area of school. There is also a temporary one way system in the vicinity so please take care and have patience at all times.

Family holidays Thank you for only taking family holidays during school holiday time. No family holidays will be authorised during term time. If your child is off school at any time due to illness then please contact the school office first thing to let us know.
