Man dies in Norden house fire

An elderly man has died following a fire at a house in Norden.
The man, aged 70, was found by fire-fighters at a house on Keepers Drive.
Fire-fighters from Rochdale and Heywood were called to the blaze at 06.55am this morning (Monday 14 March 2011) after reports from a passer by.
On arrival they were faced with a fire at a dormer bungalow. It is thought the fire started downstairs.
Police are working with the fire service to investigate the cause of the fire, but the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.
The victim's next of kin have been informed.
