Man rescued from flat fire

A man was rescued by fire-fighters from a first floor flat following reports of a fire in the early hours of this morning (Monday 14 March 2011).

The fire service was called to Wolvesey, Freehold, at 2.09am to a fire involving a pan of food on the cooker.

Three fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood attended.

A door ram was used to gain entry to the property where one man was rescued and taken to hospital by ambulance.
