Hollingworth Business and Enterprise College

This year’s ski trip to Andorra was once again successful. The behaviour of the group was excellent throughout the week and the students were a credit to the college. Students who went on the trip as beginners were able to ski well by the end of the week. All the more experienced skiers made good progress and improved their skiing ability.

The year 7s started where they left off last year with a 5-3 win over Holy Family in the Quarter Final of the Rochdale Cup. After a bumpy start the boys took control and the scoreline did not reflect the team’s dominance.
George Highton 7LG (Made some brave saves to keep us ahead) Josh Gordon 7LG (Captain and lead by example) Daniel Crompton 7AL (solid in defence) Brad Ellor 7LH (First game for Hollingworth but grew with confidence as the game went on) Patrick Brennan 7LH (solid in defence) Dean Stanton 7JH (Made some good runs down the wing) Kaine Farrah 7JH (Scored his first goal for the team and made some skillful runs) Harry Cottrill 7AL (Almost scored the goal of the season only for it to hit the post) Tom Rawson 7LH (solid in midfield, vital in the second half) Muhsin Jehangir 7JS (made some good runs down the wing) Dale Patterson 7LB (good work down the right side) Lewis O'Brien 7DW (Influential in midfield, created numerous chances for the team) James Hebb 7DW (Also influential in midfield, formed an unstoppable partnership with Lewis) Harry Royds 7DM (Worked his socks for the team up front by himself).

Well done to the girls Rugby team who played Widnes on Tuesday. They won all their matches and are through to the next round.
