Police appeal for pocket watches to be claimed
Date published: 08 March 2011
Police in Littleborough have recovered what are believed to be two stolen silver pocket watches, and are appealing for the rightful owner to come forward and claim them.
Police found the items on wasteland between Calder Avenue and Kirkstall Avenue where other stolen property has recently been found.
Gareth Lanyon, 20, of Kirkstall Avenue, Littleborough has since been charged with numerous burglaries in the area. He is due to appear at Rochdale Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 17 March.
PC Kay McCaffrey of the Pennine Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We have recently had a spate of burglaries in Shore, and we believe these pocket watches were among the items taken. We have so far been unable to trace the rightful owner, and we are therefore asking them to come forward to claim the watches.”
If anyone believes they may be the owner of these items, please contact the Pennine Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0161 856 4556 or visit Littleborough Police Station on Featherstall Road from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
