Fire crews tackle kitchen blaze

Three fire crews were called to a kitchen fire at a flat in Wardle yesterday afternoon (Saturday 5 March 2011).

Fire-fighters from Littleborough, Rochdale and Bury attended Ash Close in Wardle at 02.35pm following reports of a fire. On arrival they were faced with a fire involving paper towels on the oven in the kitchen area of a first floor flat.

One female was treated for the affects of smoke and conveyed to hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure.
