Saint Cuthbert High School
This week’s theme was The Beatitudes. Our Enterprise capability was Decision Making.
Welcome back to our Year 8 students who spent four days in Paris over the half term break. The group did lots of Enterprise initiatives whilst enjoying the sights of Paris and the joys of Euro Disney. Miss Brown, Head of MFL, reported that hotel staff commented on the excellent behaviour at all times of our youngsters. Thank you and well done.
Year 7 news – Well done Lindsay Miti, form 7.10 our ‘You have to be in to Win’ Attendance Challenge Winner. Congratulations also to Mrs Garvey and form 7.4 with a weekly attendance figure of 98%.
In recognition of world language week year 7 forms took part in a world basketball tournament: 1st place 7.8; 2nd place 7.9; 3rd place 7.10.
Homework club is open at 12.30 every lunch time in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton and Year 7 learners can enjoy St Cuthbert's daily radio broadcast each lunch time in the year 7 area. A reminder that late detentions and smart card detentions are now served after school, this is in line with whole school procedures.
Our Adult Learning Group is proving to be extremely popular – a group of parents and friends of the school come together each Tuesday morning to improve their computing skills. We are always looking for new members. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
