Healey Foundation Primary School

Date published: 02 March 2011

Welcome back to the second half of this term. The term finishes on the 15 April – not the 14 as many other schools – this is to accommodate the Robinwood trip for Years 5 and 6.

We would like to extend our thanks to Mr Payne who visited Healey before the holiday, to talk to Years 5 and 6 about his experiences as a young man at the outbreak of World War 2. The afternoon was such a wonderful opportunity for the children to listen, then ask questions from an eloquent and knowledgeable source.

Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Cups on the last day before the break.

Reception Yasmin Doody
Year 1 Ryan Beckett
Year 2 Nell Strudwick
Year 3 Ethan Mew
Year 4 Curtis Priestly
Year 5 Josh Hardman
Year 6 Rebecca Lambert

We had yet another 100% attendance class! Year 2 this time.

Next Week is the start of The Big Pedal as well as the Bikeability Week. We are trying to encourage as many children and staff as possible to come to school on bicycles. The more pupils, staff and parents that cycle to school, the better Healey will do and the higher the chances of winning prizes. We have to log how many people cycle each day and this is converted to times – the more people, the faster the time and the fastest school will win! Simple. Look out for information about the various stages and the special ‘Bike It breakfast’ on the 15 March.

Music Festival: Please will parents of Woodwind Solo/Duet children note that there has been a change of venue on 12 March from the Music Centre to Greenbank School. This is the school next door.

The Festival starts next week (Dance and Choral Speaking on Friday) and parents have been notified about where the various performances are taking place. Parents are very welcome to go along and watch, but please note that all timings are approximate.
