Man rescued following collision

A man was cut free from a car which had collided with a lamp post in Heywood last night (Monday 28 February 2011).
The fire service were called to Pilsworth Road, Heywood, at 07.56pm, on arrival they were faced with a man trapped in the vehicle.
Fire-fighters used cutting equipment to free the man and he was conveyed to hospital by ambulance after being given oxygen therapy by a fire service trauma technician.
One fire crew from Heywood and one from Bury attended.
