The Kashmir Youth Project, based in Rochdale, has recently presented a cheque for over £1,000 to The Christie.
During the last 12 months, the project has raised money through a series of fundraising events.
One of the events was the Ismail Memorial Eevent which was held in honour the project’s CEO, Ismail, who was suffering from Cancer and passed away in December 2009.
Another member of staff, Saima Ahmed, passed away in October 2010 and a service user, Mohammed Bostan, passed away in January.
Muhammad Abdulaziz, from the Kashmir Youth Project, said: “All three of these great individuals were suffering from cancer, so last year we decided to do some fundraising for Christies.
“We are very grateful to all the local individuals and organisations who have supported us with the fundraising during the last 12 months.
“We are particularly grateful to all the staff in our nursery called The Little Gems and Mohammed Khizar from our youth council for being extremely proactive in raising funds for Christies.”
In total over the last twelve months the organisation has raised about £3,000 for The Christie.
