Big writing challenge
Focus for the week: Capital letters- when to use. eg. start a sentence, proper noun, I, to begin words in titles, to begin lines of poetry

Building work
There will be a footpath diversion from the Ann street entrance into school for at least the rest of this week. This is due to the construction of some new steps. Please take care when entering and leaving school.

The old school hall is currently being converted into a new Nursery setting.
In approximately 4 weeks time, Foundation stage children will move into their new accommodation and demolition will begin on the existing Foundation stage building.
Building work will then begin on a brand new extension to the school which will provide modern purpose built learning environment for the children.

Admission numbers 2011
Our capacity is increasing as well from an intake of 30 per year to an intake of 45 pupils per year. This will commence with our September intake 2011 meaning that we have capacity to take 45 children into Reception class from our current Nursery class as well as from other nursery settings.

Our ‘statement for belief’ for the week
This week’s statement of belief is ‘I co-operate with others in work and play’

Parking and traffic issues
Parents and carers, please be aware of the parking restrictions in the area around school.

Children’s safety is of course paramount so please make use of the school crossing patrol where appropriate and make sure children are well supervised at all times.
Due to the on-going metro-link work, there are road closures in the immediate area of school. There is also a temporary one way system in the vicinity so please take care and have patience at all times!

Family holidays
Thank you for only taking family holidays during school holiday time. No family holidays will be authorised during term time. If your child is off school at any time due to illness then please contact the school office first thing to let us know.
