Healey Foundation Primary School

The ‘Bright to School day’ was an enormous success in spite of the dreadful stormy weather. The children did the school proud and were dressed in the most bizarre and bright outfits. We intend to run another ‘Bright to School Day’ later on when our target is to totally reduce the number of cars driving on to the estate. Many Year 6 children walked the last part of the journey in spite of the pouring rain and fully entered into the spirit of the occasion. Thank you for supporting.

7 to 25 March is ‘THE BIG PEDAL’, we will be having an introductory assembly on the first Monday, and then on the following Tuesday, a special Bike It breakfast for all the children pedalling to school. Half term will be a good time to drag the bikes out of the shed and start oiling chains and pumping up tyres. The week will also be opportunity for all children cycling to school to learn about bike maintenance and learn safety skills.

Next week is the final week before the half term holiday. The choir will be walking down to Syke Base on Tuesday afternoon to sing for the luncheon group, this will be a good practice running up to the Music Festival which starts the first week in March. The Choir will be performing their contribution at the Town Hall on Wednesday 23 March. Year 6 are going to Falinge High School on Thursday afternoon for a Science lesson on Electricity.

Well done to the pupils who were presented with the Achievement Award last Friday;

  • Reception Max Reeves
  • Year 1 Paul Marsden
  • Year 2 Ella Hill
  • Year 3 Regan Fannan
  • Year 4 Sam Walker
  • Year 5 Sam Round
  • Year 6 Fred Carty

Well done to Year 5 for 100% attendance with a super overall school effort of over 97%

Finally, the valentine disco on Monday (14) from 5.00pm until 6.30pm. Tickets have been issued this week, children will need a little spending money for sweets, drinks etc.
