The new edition of the latest Arts College Newsletter will be available for all students in the next week. All pupils will receive a copy and the colour version will be available to download or read on our web site. This term’s edition features recent and forthcoming projects and activities across the Arts and in our local community.

There are a few places available to see ‘Goodnight, Mr Tom’ at The Lowry, Salford Quays on 17 February 2011. Letters are available from Mr. DeCourcey in the CEPA office and The theatre visit is open to all years. Places are offered on a ‘first come, first served ‘ basis.

Ms. Williams and Ms. Wystawnoha have been busy working with the students of Meanwood Community School to create a ‘Stomp’ style performance over s series of weeks. The showcase of the final piece takes place on 10 February 2011. For more details, contact either staff at FPHS or Meanwood Community School.

The latest ‘Theatre Poster’competition begins this week. Application forms are available from the CEPA office and the competition closes the week following Half term. Details and forms will be issued to pupils via tutor groups in the next week.

We welcome Hopwood Hall College BTEC Drama students into school this week as they perform a Theatre-in-Education piece to our Year 10 BTEC Drama learners. The students have visited us already and we look forward to their showcase performance and workshop.

Rehearsals are now well underway for our Multicultural Show which takes place on Monday 14 February from 4.00pm until 6.00pm. Tickets are available from the CEPA office, priced at £3.00. If your act needs rehearsal space, then please see Mr. DeCourcey as soon as possible in order to book a room.

FPHS will be hosting an INSET titled ‘Using the Arts to Raise Literacy’ for primary staff across the borough. We have run several successful training events over the last few years and this one promises to be highly relevant for all primary staff. The INSET takes place on Thursday 17 February from 2.00pm until 4.00pm. There are now four places still available. For more details please contact either Simon Morley or Simon DeCourcey.
