St Cuthbert's R.C Business & Enterprise College

This week’s theme was My Parish and our Enterprise capability was Change.

It was great to work with the children from St John’s RC Primary School again on Wednesday as they learned how to market their school in an advertisement for radio. The work they produced was absolutely fantastic! We look forward to seeing you in the summer term for your film session.

Congratulations to Mr Lockett and the Year 10 boys’ football team who beat Ossett High School and are now down to the final 16 in the English Schools National Cup. We look forward to continued success in our next match boys!

Year 9 pupils enjoyed a whole day of activities regarding crime and safety awareness last Thursday. ‘Prison? Me? No way!’ led by Phil Wilson, Director of community liaison of the No Way Trust. The event, which was made possible by the generous sponsorship of Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, was a great success with pupils taking on the role of judge and jury.

Year 7 news – ‘You have to be in to win!’ - Well done Miss Hussain and form 7.6 with a weekly attendance figure of 99.3%. Congratulations to Joshua Knight, form 7.10, this week’s attendance challenge winner. Mrs Livesey presented an assembly to year 7 on Friday, focussing on positive choices and friendships. Homework club is open every lunch time in L3. Year 7 now fall in line with the rest of the school: ‘late’ detentions and uniform detentions are to be served after school.

A reminder: mobile phones, if brought into school, must be in the bottom of a school bag and switched off throughout the school day.

The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for parents and for any Parish Groups who wish to produce resources for church or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
