Childminders, the children they look after and centre staff celebrated the Chinese year of the rabbit this week in a special oriental themed event at Littleborough Sure Start Children’s Centre.
There were lots of fun activities including making masks, writing menus and tasting food.
The childminders meet every Wednesday morning at the centre and enjoy recognising other cultures and celebrations.
The children enjoyed spring rolls, rice, chicken and prawn crackers.
The childminders are carrying on the theme at home with more activities and food tasting.
Within the session, there was opportunity to raise awareness of different celebrations and cultures.
Katie Hoyle, Senior Early Years Worker said: “The event was really successful. All the children loved the food tasting and activities – everyone loved joining in.”
