A lively lunch held at the Hopwood Hall College in aid of Cancer Research UK has raised hundreds of pounds for the charity.
£300 was raised on the day and the sum was matched by Barclays Bank Community Fund resulting in a grant total of £600 for the charity.
The luncheon, at the College’s training restaurant ‘Cottons,’ celebrated the life of Robert Burns.
The event was arranged by Kath Hazlehurst, a member of the Committee for Cancer Research UK to raise money for the charity.
Ms Hazlehurst wanted a venue that could offer a dining experience - without the hefty price tag - to raise as much money as possible for the cause.
The luncheon offered an excellent opportunity to showcase the talents and skills of the students within the Catering and Hospitality department who both cooked and served the unique Burns experience.
