Chip pan fire in Kirkholt

Fire engine.

Fire crews from Rochdale Fire Station attended an incident at a terraced property on Balderstone Road in Kirkholt, Rochdale on Monday 31 January at 03.43pm.

On arrival at the scene fire-fighters were confronted with the kitchen and front room smoke logged and the smoke alarming sounding.

Fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reels. A pressure fan was then used to remove smoke from the property.

The fire damaged the living room and smoke damage was caused the rest of the house.

Damage by fire to a quantity of oil in chip pan left unattended.
