Murder suspect sectioned

A man arrested on suspicion of murder in Rochdale has been sectioned.
The victim, who has been named as Peter Hopwood, 67, died after being taken to hospital with head injuries on Sunday (30 January 2011) night.
Police were called by hostel workers at the Salvation Army on High Street at around 11.30pm after they found Mr Hopwood unconscious with head injuries outside. Mr Hopwood was taken to hospital but died at 5.30am the next morning.
A 41-year-old man was arrested by officers near the scene on suspicion of murder and he has now been sectioned under the Mental Health Act for assessment.
