Fire crew tackles vehicle blaze

Date published: 30 January 2011

Fire-fighters were called to a car fire on the drive way of a house in Rochdale this morning (Sunday 30 January 2011).

One fire crew from Rochdale fire station attended the blaze on Delamere Road, Turf Hill, at 11.21am.

The owner of the Land Rover Discovery was in attendance and it is thought the fire was started accidentally by welding work being carried out on the vehicle.

The fire service used a hose reel and two breathing apparatus.

The photographs were taken by Rochdale Online reader Councillor Ian Duckworth.
