Man charged following collision with police car

A man has been charged following a collision with a police car and four other vehicles in Deeplish, Rochdale.

Tausif Ahmed Malik, 21, of Yarrow Close, Deeplish, has been charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Shortly before 10.25pm on Wednesday 26 January 2011, an Audi A4 refused to stop for police officers.

At the junction of Newbarn Lane and Ashfield Road, the Audi was in a collision with the police car and four other vehicles, a Vauxhall Corsa, two Ford Fiestas and a Honda Civic.

The Audi was then abandoned. No injuries were reported.

Tausif Ahmed Malik is due before Rochdale Magistrates Court on Monday 7 February 2011.

Two other men were arrested and later released without charge.
