Building Work
Building work at school has now started! The end product will be a school re-developed for the 21st century. I will keep you notified regularly with updates.

In the meantime the school hall is out of use. How will we manage?

  • PE lessons will take place at Castlemere Community Centre which is only 5 minutes walk from school.
  • Assemblies will be in Key stages but Friday assembly will be for the whole school and will be held in St John’s church weekly
  • Breakfast club will be in Foundation stage building temporarily from 8am.
  • After-school clubs will continue as per normal but the kick-pitch and the computer suite will be the main choices whilst building work takes place.
  • School lunches will be served in classrooms temporarily. Healthy but tasty food a priority as always but served ‘fast-food’ style. Please call in and speak to our office staff if you would like to give your child a try with the new style nutritious fun school meals. Cost is £1.70 per day
£8 50 per week payable at start of the week.

The old school hall is currently being converted into a new Nursery setting.
In approximately 4 weeks time (February half term) demolition will begin on the existing Foundation stage building.
Building work will then begin on a brand new extension to the school which will provide modern purpose built learning environment for the children.

Admission Number 2011
Our capacity is increasing as well from an intake of 30 per year to an intake of 45 pupils per year. This will commence with our September intake 2011 meaning that we have capacity to take 45 children into Reception class from our current Nursery class as well as from other nursery settings.

Parking and Traffic Issues
Parents and carers, please be aware of the parking restrictions in the area around school.
Children’s safety is of course paramount so please make use of the school crossing patrol where appropriate and make sure children are well supervised at all times.
Due to the on-going metro-link work, there are road closures in the immediate area of school. There is also a temporary one way system in the vicinity so please take care and have patience at all times!

Family Holidays
Thank you for only taking family holidays during school holiday time. No family holidays will be authorised during term time. If your child is off school at any time due to illness then please contact the school office first thing to let us know.
