Redwood School

Date published: 11 January 2011

We have a great deal to look forward to during 2011 and our important relationships with parents and carers is at the heart of everything we do at Redwood School. Your support continues to help in the development of the school and this year we shall be seeking your opinions on a variety of issues.

After School Clubs and Youth Clubs
Our extensive range of after school activities, evening and Saturday clubs commenced this week. All clubs remain the same with students automatically retaining their place. If you no longer require a place or you now wish your son / daughter to attend, please contact the Sports Department for further information. This term we shall be introducing transport to the youth clubs to those parents who requested it during our survey in December. David Butterworth will co-ordinate this provision and parents / carers will be contacted.

February half term holiday club details have been sent home with our plans for the half term holiday club for the period Monday 21 - Friday 25 February. Even though it is early in the new term we are starting to allocate places, if you would like your son / daughter to attend please contact school.

We have been notified of a skill building course for parents of a child with a disability—sessions run each Monday for 6 weeks 6.45pm - 8.45pm at the Hollins Childrens Centre, Tintern Road Middleton. The sessions will look at confidence, communication, having your say, how to influence change, personal development plans and personalization and self directed support. For more information please contact Carole, Elizabeth, Kath or Marie at the Parents Forum on 07901 854741.
