Dads and granddads from around the borough are invited to attend the second ‘Dadtastic!’ family fun day at Queen Street Children and Family Centre, Heywood - and this year they will be have to protect their kids from dinosaurs!
Children will be able to touch dinosaur bones and dig for fossils. Matt Riley, Heywood’s own dinosaur expert will then explain everything about these ancient beasties.
Parents can help to make skeleton collages with their children along with all the usual face painting, fathers day card making and mini sports activities.
Even scarier, dads can vie with their children for the worst karaoke performance.
Parents or children with a disability can join Adam in wheelchair basketball..
There will be stalls and a tombola, and the first fifty families will get free family swimming tickets.
Geoff Read, Parental Involvement Worker at Heywood SureStart said: "There are some great dads in the area and they should be in no doubt how importantthey are to their children by the time they leave, whether they see their children every day or not."
"All dads, mums, grandparents and carers are welcome, but females should ‘drag a dad’ if they can. Saturday club runs from 10.30-12.30 every week at the same venue and new members are very welcome."
