The family of a 44-year-old man who died after falling from a quad bike on Oldham Road at the weekend have paid tribute to him.

David Patrick Statham (born 04/01/62) of Starring Way, Littleborough, suffered serious head injuries during the collision, which happened just after 5.15pm on Saturday 17 June. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

David leaves his mother Eileen, 71, two daughters Sherry, 23, and Charlotte, 15, and his three brothers and one sister: Sean, 42, Paul, 46, Jim, 48, and Helen, 38.

His younger brother Sean today paid tribute to David.

"David was a loving Dad, son and brother who had had his problems but was sorting his life out. This is a tragic accident. He will be deeply missed and leaves a hole in our lives."

David's family have asked that their privacy is respected and they are left alone to grieve at this difficult time.
