Family tribute to Heywood hit and run victim David Taylor

The family of David Taylor, who died following a fail to stop road traffic collision in Heywood on Monday 26 June 2006, have issued a tribute to him.

A joint statement from David's family reads: "David was a young man truly living his dream. His huge personality and love of life set him apart from the crowd and touched everyone he met.

"He had a loving family, lovely girlfriend, many, many friends and everything to look forward to. His loss has devastated us all.

"We are still struggling to come to terms with his passing and thank everyone for their kindness at this impossibly difficult time."

David was studying at the Penrith campus of the University of Central Lancashire.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident, in which 24-year-old David was killed after pushing his friend out of the way of a moving car in Heywood.

David (born 28/05/82) of Bury Old Road, Heywood died on Tuesday 27 June 2006 following the collision.

Just before 2.15am on Monday morning David was crossing the road with a friend when he was in collision with the car, believed to be a silver Mercedes A Class.
