Armed robber flees prison

A prisoner who was sentenced to nine years in prison for an armed robbery of the Going Places travel agency in Middleton and to sixteen years for robbery and firearms offences in Oldham has gone on the run.
David Patmore (26) absconded from the category D open prison HMP Sudbury, in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, last Thursday.
Patmore was the ringleader of a gang of five armed robbers who committed crimes across North Manchester between March 1 and May 15, 2003.
During his preliminary hearing in May, 2003, Patmore jumped over the 7ft dock and fled Manchester Minshull Street Court.
He is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, medium build with short ginger hair, blue eyes and a northern accent.
Greater Manchester Police have been alerted.
Although not believed to be dangerous, members of the public have been asked not to approach him.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts should call their local police station or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
