Sports firm signed for Kingsway Business Park
Date published: 03 April 2010
More than fourteen months have passed since Kingsway Business Park integrated JD Sports into its plans and laid out designs for a 616,000 sq ft warehouse for the retailer.
However, since planning permission was granted funding setbacks have stalled building work.
The Northwest Regional Development Agency, Rochdale Development Agency and Rochdale Borough Council are working with Wilson Bowden on the project which could see the construction of the largest warehouse in the north-west outside of Ellesmere Port.
It is hoped that the negotiations with the sports chain will spur further parties to invest in the build.
The Kingsway campus is a 420 acre commercial property development located off the M62 at Junction 21. It offers approximately 300,000 sq ft of office space alongside 243,000 sq ft of retail, hotel and restaurant amenities.
The project is hoping to secure large-office based occupiers to the site, providing interested firms with premium office suites based in landscaped grounds.
