Healey Primary School
We have been very fortunate in being allocated a 12 week Parenting Course here in school, "Survival Skills for Families". It will run every Wednesday morning from 9.15am and last for 2 hours. The course is being run by the council and parents who have attended in other schools are thrilled with the information and survival clues!
It is not necessary to attend all the mornings, but if you have ANY concerns at all and want to meet other parents, have a chat, relax and unwind then please come along. Speaking as a parent myself, there isn't a limit to the advice you can be given in preparation for your children growing up. You will be able to trade ideas about a huge range of issues;
- Bedtimes
- Mealtimes
- Temper tantrums
- Mum knows best!
- Childhood ailments - including headlice!
- Health and hygiene related issues
- Preparing for school
- Supporting your child in school and at home
- Safety
- Managing TV / computer games etc
- Managing behaviour
- The happy house
This is not a course aimed at the Supernanny - time out, naughty step approach!
This course is not about being a bad parent - it is aimed at good parents who want the best for their children and a calm, happy household. If you fancy this, the course is totally free of charge, refreshments included. If you are able or wish to attend any of these sessions please come along. If you would like more detail, please do not hesitate to contact school.
