Confiscated goods distributed

Officers from Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) will be delivering items such as TV’s, DVD’s and computer games to community groups and schools across the area. The items, worth around £10,000, were seized from drug dealers following a series of raids in the north Rochdale area.

Inspector Lin Houldershaw, who was instrumental in ensuring the items were driven straight back into the community, said: “It is really nice to be able to give something directly back to the community groups who live in areas affected by drugs.

“We want this to show criminals that crime does not and will not pay. I hope as many people as possible will benefit through the community groups and schools chosen to receive donations.”

Superintendent Martin Greenhalgh said: “It is good to see how the items seized from criminals are being used to support the local community.

“I want this to send a clear message to criminals we will do everything in our power to stop their illegal activity and I hope this provides reassurance to residents that we are doing all we can to rid the community of those who continue to blight the area with their criminality.”
