Woodbine Street re-visited
Date published: 25 March 2010
Residents on Woodbine Street were delighted to hear that Rochdale Council has agreed to relook at the decision to sell land on Woodbine Street to a housing developer for £1.
The decision to sell had been taken under what is know as ‘delegated power’, the Lib Dem Council Cabinet having agreed to allow a senior Council officer to take the decision.
However, following an outcry from residents it was agreed that council officers would meet with residents to hear their concerns, and the meeting took place at the Town Hall last night.
Moreover, the final decision will now be taken by the elected councillors at a special meeting next Tuesday.
