Basketball
Well done to the Year 10 basketball team who beat Middleton Technology College in the Year 10 basketball finals. The game finished 24 points to 6 and man of the match was Connor Pickup. Players involved were James Taylor, Josh Marsden, Mathew Green, Mathew Miles, Sam Clayton, Dominic Welsby, and Lewis Neal. This is a great achievement and we are really proud of you.

Oulder Hill’s Got Talent
The following students will be competing in the final of the forthcoming ‘Oulder Hill’s Got Talent’ contest that is being organised by some of our Key Stage 4 Young Enterprise students - they will be performing a wide variety of acts such as dance, music and comedy: Jessica Dale, Megan Gomersall, Rachel Marsden, Hannah Clegg, Ellie Wensley, Mehvish Asif, Faiza Asghar, Eve Walton, Emma Down, Holly Williams, Ben Scott, Amber Heaviside, Taiba Majid, Dale Hames, Emma Johnson, Lucy Gilbert, Jack Kesterton, Jack Rawstron, Tom Banks, Oliver Hughes, Edward Hopwood and Andrew Saunders.

Sport Relief
Year 9 students had been set the challenge: Raise more money than any other year group possible! The bar had been set high, with each pair having to raise a minimum of £5. However the majority of the Year 9’s rose to it fantastically and on Friday 19 March they set off on their perilous journey... a 3-legged mile round Oulder Hill’s Astroturf.

Despite some bumps, falls, trips and tearing of ties, the majority of students completed the course unscathed. There were a variety of styles and techniques on display that could have graced any sporting field and a special mention should go to Ms O’Connor and Mr Lynch who represented the staff and made it look easy.

The students that took part should be extremely proud of themselves as they raised a whopping £850! This is an amazing total and is enough to buy 170 Malaria nets. Miss Bramwell, who organised the event along with Miss Ward said “I can only say what an absolute pleasure it was to see the students so involved and trying their best for charity as well as having a good time. It was a fantastic afternoon and the Year 9’s were an absolute credit to the school. I can’t wait for next year!”
